| Hey, I suffer from spots. I have loads of tips on how to get rid of them... Here they are:
How to cure a spot: Firstly you should NEVER squeeze a spot- It'll just look even more red and inflamed. What's more, you'll risk pushing the infection deeper into your skin and it may leave a permanent scar.
1) Wash your skin thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel. 2) Wrap an ice cube in a clean hanky and hold it over the spot for a minute or two- It'll help bring down the swelling 3) Dip the end of a cotton bud into some diluted tea tree oil (available from your chemist) and dot a tiny amount directly onto the spot 4) Leave it alone to get better
If you want to use concealer: 1) If the spot's dry and crusty, apply a little petroleum jelly first to soften it. 2)Apply the concealer to the spot using a clean cotton bud. (Don't apply concealer on areas around the spot that don't need it or you'll just create a "halo effect") 3)Pat some face powder over the concealer to set it and help it stay put all day long
Top tip: If you keep getting spots in the same area, check they are not being triggered by contact with a telephone, cycle helmet or sunglasses, which aren't spotlessly clean. Check they are not caused by leaning on your hands.
Top tip for concealer: Don't apply with your fingers or you'll risk spreading the infection
